Thus far my adventure has included many hours of driving, rain, friends, and new sights. On Friday I did the long drive from Edmonton to Banff to see the mountains to enjoy some of this wonderful country's most beautiful assets. The trees are so incredibly green, the views are breathtaking and seem to go on forever, and the air is so fresh and clean - quite refreshing from the city air and the limited views that living in the city has to offer.
My arrival in Banff was quickly followed by a delicious meal of Indian cuisine at Masala on Wolf street. The food was delicious, I had a zucchini masala with rice and paneer naan. The service was slow and quite minimal, but the meal was worth the wait.
I explored the shops on Banff avenue and ventured up the mountain for a gondola ride up to the mountain peak. It was raining, and as I traveled higher the rain turned into snow. It was cold at the top, and the viewing decks were flooded, but seeing as I had traveled the distance, I ventured out onto the viewing deck for a view of the mountains tops and the little city down below. There is something so special and so incredible about being so high up, being so deep into nature; even with the rain, and the snow, and the fog, and the many clouds that hid the sun, it was such a beautiful day, so serene- therapeutic.
