Ben Harper graced the Nation's Capital with his presence and smooth sweet sounds showing us many talents as a naturally captivating entertainer. His use of the slide guitar stunned the crowd, especially once a string broke and he carried on without any hesitations, continuing to capture his fans with his loud sound and strong voice. He reminded those of us of his incredible song Walk Away - a powerful ballad that is only highlighted by Harper's strong vocals. Harper also serenaded the crowd with a stunning rendition of his Diamonds, a song that is very beautiful on its own, he took the song to incredible heights as he transitioned it from its original soft composition to hard rock and many other levels, bringing it back down to a beautiful smooth and easy ending. Finally, Harper brought the crowd together with Burn One Down, a song that he explained to his fans is about freedom and life, but that ultimately created an instant haze that stood and lingered throughout his fans as they enjoyed the remainder of his stellar performance.
