need you to know

When I think of you I think of so many special moments that we've shared. I think of how important you are to me and it scares me to think that one day you won't be there. 

I know you've lived a good life. I know that we all one day grow old.
But it truly scares me and breaks my heart to think of a life without you once you go. 

I may not always visit, or call you everyday, 

but know that I've never loved you more, my love for you will never go away.
I need you to know you're on my mind through each of my days, 

even when we're not speaking and I'm busy, I love you, my love for you is not a phase.
I need you to know that I miss you even when I don't tell you so. 

I miss you each day I'm not around you and even more after we've spoken when you call.  

In my mind and heart you'll stay, wishing for you to be there;

Moments of my life I'll live, wishing that we could have shared.
I love you because of who you are. I love you not because I must. 

I love you for the strength you show, for being that one I always knew to trust.

I need you to know that I love you and that my love for you is strong.
I love you not because I have to. My love for you won't fade once you are gone.
