This Day & Age

We live in a time where many people chose to live blindly, ignoring the realities that have set in around the globe. Some of us fear knowing what is true because of the pain and sorrow that the truth can bring us. There is a lot of tragedy that still exists internationally, whether this be in the form of a homeless person picking cigarette butts up from the sidewalk or the death of people due to terrorism, tragedy is a reality of our time.

As science has continued to advance and people have become increasingly educated about the implications of human action on the environment, we are becoming more and more environmentally conscious. However, there are some that still deny the theory of Global Warming, even though there are many clear signs that point to its existence and the relevance of such a phenomenon.

All the while that people are denying the existence of phenomena's of our time, claiming that these theories are wrong or a conspiracy- fake -, every day we continue to see television shows referred to as 'reality'. Society has fallen victim to the corporations of media whose job it is to structure and transform the perceptions of people; to influence and mold the minds of citizens. We are fed information, all of which is controlled information, to help us become educated. However, we are also rid of information that such corporations of big heads do not want us to know. Yet, when we have the evidence clearly in front of us, when we can see the changes in our environment. When we can witness the poverty, the sick and the tragic we are quick to look past or deny its relevance in our lives.

We live in a time where some of the most serious phenomenas that should concern us and awaken us are looked at as irrelevant and fake, and where media and television is referred to as reality.
